NECI offers two methods of taking the Professional Wedding Consultant Training program as well as a supplemental 3-day seminar:
Online Class
The 15-week online class is held on Tuesday evenings for 2 hours. In order to participate in the
class you will need a computer with Internet access for the visual aspect of the class, as well as a separate phone line to
call into a toll-free number for the audio portion of the class.
Registration must be completed no later than two-weeks prior to the class start date. Upon registering for the online class, you will
be sent the first section of the three-section Wedding Consultant Manual. After completing and receiving a passing grade of 80%
or higher for the Section I chapter tests, you will be provided with the next section of the manual.
Students taking the online class are expected to complete reading the manual chapters taking the individual chapter tests within
15-weeks. The Essential Wedding Project must be turned in 45-days after the last chapter test has been graded and returned to
the student. All coursework must be completed no later than five-months from the date of enrollment.

Week 2: Determining Your Fees/Contracts, Liabilities & Insurance
Week 3: Marketing Your Business/Building Your Portfolio
Week 4: Communication Strategies/Developing Your Style
Week 5: Interviewing Vendors/Vendor Database
Week 6: Vendor Contracts/ Interviewing Prospects
Week 7: Getting Started/Planning & Tasks
Week 8: Budget Management/Stationery & Social Announcements
Week 9: Wedding Attire/Ceremony Décor
Week 10: Reception Décor/Wedding Cakes
Week 11: Cultural Weddings/Military Weddings/Emergency Management
Week 12: The Itineraries
Week 13: The Rehearsal
Week 14: The Ceremony
Week 15: The Reception/Wrapping Up the Event
Distance Education
The self-paced Distance Education class is offered year-round and begins for each individual when they register for the class.
Students are welcome to contact NECI by phone or email with any questions or to discuss the coursework in more detail.

3-Day Continuing Education Weekend Seminar
For the experienced wedding consultant, NECI also offers a 3-day weekend seminar for those
individuals interested in continuing education with instruction in a group setting. The 3-day
seminar is held at a hotel and includes 9-hours of education each day using a combination of
professional instruction, guest speakers, class discussion and group activities.
